About Us

UtMa, that are Ute and Matthias (Matt) Brandt.

​

We both spent the first big portion of our lives in Germany, pretty close to each other, without meeting. When we finally met it was clear from day one, that Matt’s biggest dream was to live and work in Canada, Nova Scotia.

 

I did not have much of an idea about that little Province but wanted to see it to find out wether or not I could imagine to live and become happy here. I wanted to see the worst case scenario, so we came in January 2019 for a first visit.

 

I immediately fell in Love with the Nature, the People and with Snow. I have never seen that much snow before and believing the people I was talking to, it was not even much.

 

We made a second Trip in May and that was when our whole live began to change. Matt found himself a job and a sponsor for the work permit. The following months were full of excitement, planing and getting everything ready for the big move.

 

Finally on October 6th 2019 we travelled one way with our Bernese Mountain Dog Keks (Cookie)!

So, here we were, Matt working in his Trade, plumbing, and I tried finding a job myself. But unfortunately nobody was waiting for somebody with nearly 30 years experience in german government work. Finally I found a bookkeeping job, Taxes and payroll and quite a few other things were included.

 

Matt has heard many stories from customers being left alone with emergencies, not showing up for appointments and even being rude to customers that slowly the idea began to grow, why don’t we make it right? Be reliable, on time and accurate when people are in need of a plumber or property management.

 

In June this year, 2022, we received our permanent residency and now we were good to start. It took a bit of inquiring, looking for a van, insurances and a few other things, but here we are!
